mothers milk is an artist-run candle studio based in New York City.

Founded by Filipina-American artist Aubry Villaver Buhawe, the studio began as a single candle made in a small apartment as a way to create stillness inside a loud city.

What started as a personal ritual became a practice of making, lighting, and returning to stillness and calm through scent and repetition.

Each candle is made slowly and intentionally, turning everyday light into something deliberate.
